Super Mario Galaxy 2 'will be a real challenge'

Legendary gamemaker Shigeru Miyamoto has promised gamers that the forthcoming Super Mario Galaxy 2 will tax their skills to their limits.

The creator of Mario told Official Nintendo magazine that the new 3D platformer will be "really challenging" and is debating whether or not to include in-built help modes.

Mr Miyamoto hinted that the Super Guide mode featured in New Super Mario Bros Wii, which allows players to let the computer clear harder levels for them, may be being considered for the new Galaxy title.

However, he refused to "commit to anything specific right now".

Gamers are hoping that Super Mario Galaxy 2 can live up to the high standard set by the critically-acclaimed Super Mario Galaxy, which was awarded perfect scores by publications such as Edge Magazine and Eurogamer.

Those looking to get their Mario fix sooner than that will also be looking forward to the release of New Super Mario Bros Wii, which launches this week.
