Halo fans have been reminded that the latest chapter in the blockbuster franchise, Halo 3: ODST, has been launched in game stores around the world.
This new Xbox 360 prequel to the epic Halo 3 leaves behind the story of series hero Master Chief and places gamers in the role of an ODST (Orbital Drop Shock Trooper) as they look to investigate the activities of the Covenant in the city of New Mombasa.
The title also includes the critically-acclaimed multiplayer portion from Halo 3 in its entirety, complete with additional maps and an all-new cooperative survival mode, Firefight.
Halo 3: ODST has already received some glowing tributes from a number of reviewers, with GamePro magazine praising the title as the "best Halo yet".
The shooter franchise has gone from strength to strength since debuting on the original Xbox and will continue next year with the release of Halo: Reach, which will act as a prequel to the entire epic story.
