Fans eager to know what happens next in BioWare's epic science-fiction adventure series Mass Effect have been given some revealing new details.
The developer has revealed that Mass Effect 2 will introduce players to a new team member named Grunt, a battle-hardened and violent Krogan warrior who will bring a bloodthirsty style into combat.
Grunt will be one of a number of diverse team-mates to choose from in the forthcoming Xbox 360 and PC title, which will see the heroic Commander Shepard embark on a potentially suicidal mission into deep space to investigate strange disappearances.
Dr Ray Muzyka, general manager and chief executive officer at BioWare, said: "Building out a diverse and loyal party is one of the features that makes the Mass Effect series unique. The characters Commander Shepard recruits are … essential to the player's overall success."
BioWare has also revealed that a Mass Effect comic book miniseries is also in the works, which fills in the gaps between the dramatic conclusion of the original Mass Effect and the highly-anticipated sequel.
