Third map pack en route for Call of Duty: World at War

Eager online soldiers are to be treated with a third downloadable map pack for hit first-person shooter Call of Duty: World at War for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, courtesy of developer Treyarch.

Four new multiplayer arenas will be made available by the new pack, including the armoured ocean island of Battery, the sniper's paradise of Revolution and the Brandenburg Gate-set Breach.

Meanwhile, fans of the Zombie mode will be catered to by Der Riese, a new map set in a sinister Nazi research facility that allows players to use teleportation devices as they do battle, as well as offering ten new Achievements and Trophies.

Treyarch will be hoping the new downloads for Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network can build on the success of its previous map pack releases, which have accumulated more than four million sales between them.

Meanwhile, those anticipating the release of new Call of Duty game Modern Warfare 2 were last week teased with a new Prestige Edition set by developer Infinity Ward which includes a functioning pair of night-vision goggles.
