Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack 1 reaches 2m sales mark

It seems that fans of Call of Duty: World at War cannot get enough of the multi-platform game.

Nearly half a year after its release, gamers are still battling it out on the PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii both on and offline with an unprecedented ardour.

Indeed, Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack 1, which is available as a download, has reached the two million sales mark worldwide, adding further evidence to the fact that this game is a serious force to be reckoned with.

Mark Lamia, studio head of Treyarch the developer, commented: "This is a huge milestone and we are so appreciative of our incredibly supportive community who continue to play and enjoy the game."

He added that the studio is currently working on Map Pack 2, which it hopes will be ready for release sometime in June.

Gamers who have never played this first-person shooter series should familiarise themselves with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, which previously scooped a string of awards for game of the year.
