Call of Duty: World at War reaches one million downloads

Over a million downloads have been completed within the first weekend of availability of a downloadable pack for the title Call of Duty: World at War.

Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack 1 proved successful on both Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network with gamers taking the chance to tackle for new maps.

These are Nightfire, Knee Deep, Station and Verruckt.

Mark Lamia, studio head for game developer Treyarch, said: "I'm proud that the team at Treyarch delivered an experience that so many people are enjoying.

"We're excited that the success of Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack 1 will continue to drive the popularity of the game's Nazi Zombie mode, competitive multiplayer and chart-breaking success online."

In its first week in the UK ChartTrack All Formats chart back in November, Call of Duty: World at War topped the chart despite only being on sale for two days in the week.

The first person shooter is a multiplatform release and was published by Activision Blizzard.
