Mario Kart Wii heads Nintendo's dominance in Australia

The popularity of Nintendo titles in Australia cannot be underestimated as the top ten games in the latest gaming chart from the country are all played on Nintendo platforms.

Seven of the top ten titles all come from the Nintendo Wii, with Mario Kart Wii accelerating to the head of affairs, according to data trackers GfK Australia.

The chart looks at the week beginning February 2nd and last week's number one Wii Fit slid down one place to second.

Dr Kawashima's Brain Training: How Old Is Your Brain fills the chart's third spot, highlighting the Nintendo DS' first assault on proceedings, with Guitar Hero: World Tour another non-mover in fourth.

More Brain Training takes fifth, while there is a return to the top ten for Wii Fit at six.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl was another title to feature highly in the chart.

Top Global Markets, an integrated monthly report from leading providers of consumer and retail information in the video games industry, recently revealed that Mario Kart Wii was the most bought game of last year.
