Bioware's popular role-playing game (RPG) Mass Effect could make its debut on the PlayStation 3 sometime in 2009, it is rumoured.
Mass Effect had originally only been made available on the Xbox 360 by publisher Electronic Arts.
However, a source close to the firm is alleged to have told Secondstorygamer.com that Mass Effect 2 will be making an appearance on the PlayStation 3.
Better still, the website alleges that the original version of the RPG could be made available on the console later this year.
Gamers will no doubt be hoping that this release will also make its way on to the PC.
Mass Effect 2 is widely tipped to feature at this year's Game Developers Conference (GDC 2009), where an official announcement could be made.
The developers claim to have progressed beyond the difficulties experienced on the original title, which will no doubt prove enough to whet the appetite of the games already strong fanbase.
