Resident Evil: Revelations 2 Raid Mode detailed

#

Capcom has released details of how Raid Mode will be implemented in the upcoming episodic sequel, Resident Evil: Revelations 2.

Raid Mode was introduced in the first Revelations game on the 3DS, and carried over when that game came to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It allows you and a co-op partner to replay short arcade-paced sections of the map aiming for high scores and fast times rather than progressing the story.

New Raid Mode maps and missions will be included with each of the game's four downloadable chapter, with additional bonus content for those who opt to wait and buy the game complete on disc. Maps will be drawn from Revelations, Revelations 2 and Resident Evil 6 and, all told, there will be almost 200 Raid missions across the four chapters, plus special daily missions. Online play will only be enabled for Raid Mode once all chapters are available. Up until then, you'll be able to play offline either solo or in split-screen with a friend.

There will be 15 playable characters, including series icons Claire Redfield, Moira Burton and Barry Burton. If you opt for the disc version of the game, you'll get Hunk and Wesker as well. Each character can be levelled up to unlock additional abilities and perks. Weapons can also beimproved with custom parts and upgrades.

The first chapter of Resident Evil: Revelations 2 will be available from 24 February for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation Vita and PC.
