Nintendo has revealed which amiibo figures will interact with the upcoming Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, and what they'll do.
Three figurines will work with the game, and unsurprisingly they're all Kirby characters. Kirby himself is one, obviously, while the other two are the evil Meta Knight and the mallet-wielding King Dedede. The Kirby amiibo was part of the first wave, and is out now.
In terms of functionality, you'll be able to use each amiibo in the game only once per day. Doing so will grant you a one-off extra strong power-up ability, ideal for getting past tricky sections of the game. Kirby unlocks an unlimited Star Dash, Meta Knight gives you a mask which provides an attack bonus and Dedede unlocks a hat which boosts your defence.
The four-player co-op adventure Kirby and the Rainbow Curse has a stop motion animated look, and everything in the game is sculpted from clay. It's due to reach the UK later in 2015. Given how popular the amiibo toys are, we recommend pre-ordering the ones you want before they launch.
