City Interactive has confirmed a third entry in the popular Sniper: Ghost Warrior series is deep in development.
Due for release on PS4, Xbox One and PC in early 2016, it's being put together by an all-star development team including Steve Hart, who was a senior producer on Rebellion's Sniper Elite v2, and Paul B. Robinson, a former US Marine who has spent the last 20 years consulting on video games.
The game will be set in a modern day Eastern European conflict, and will drop the player in the middle of three rival factions. You'll be able to take out enemies from afar with your trusty sniper rifle, of course, but also have the option of getting up close for stealth kills or, if the worst happens, blasting your way to safety the old fashioned way.
Environments will be immersive and realistic, with large open-ended maps, while missions will have a non-linear sandbox approach, allowing you to replay them and try out different plans of attack.
Were fully committed to creating a AAA franchise that gamers can rely on for the ultimate first-person sniper experience, says Marek Tyminski, boss man of City Interactive.
