Telltale's Game of Thrones is out next week

Winter isn't just coming, it's almost here! No sooner has Telltale released the first episode of its adventure game spin-off Tales from the Borderlands, but it reveals that the first chapter of its Game of Thrones title will be here right afterwards.

After an agonising few months of waiting for an exact date, Game of Thrones: Iron from Ice launches on multiple platforms next week. The debut episode will be available on PC from Tuesday 2 December, while the following day, Wednesday 3 December, will see it come to Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.

The game has been a long time in development, and will place you in control of five members of House Forrester, an obscure but canon family that has not appeared in HBO's hit TV show, but is mentioned in George R.R. Martin's hefty books. Your actions as one character will change the experiences of the other playable characters.

For those following along on the telly, the Iron from Ice story takes place from the end of the third season through to the start of the fourth season. Characters from the show will appear in the game, and actors such as Lena Heady and Peter Dinklage have recorded new dialogue.

If that leaves you hungry for even more Telltale goodness, you can pick up complete seasons of their Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us video games on disc boxsets right now.
