Minecraft gets Star Wars DLC

Minecraft on XBOX One at GAME.co.uk

Good news for Xbox One and Xbox 360 Minecrafters – there's a very cool new DLC costume pack available right now. Following on from last month's Doctor Who skins, the latest addition brings a whole host of famous Star Wars characters and costumes to Mojang's block-bashing blockbuster. The pack is out now, priced £1.99 on 360 and £2.39 on Xbox One, and includes a whopping 55 skins from the original movie trilogy set in that galaxy far, far away.

There are six Luke Skywalker variants, ranging from his original Tattooine tunic through to his black Jedi robes, while there are six Princess Leia looks to choose from. Yes, the metal bikini from Return of the Jedi is one of them. Han Solo only has three – Smuggler, Hoth and Endor - but then he was never really one for bold costume changes.

Chewbacca, Yoda, Ben Kenobi, C-3PO and R2-D2 are also included, along with Darth Vader, Boba Fett, The Emperor and various Imperial troop types. For the truly hardcore fans, there are some really obscure faces as well. For those who know who Lobot, Bossk, Dengar, Nien Numb and Zuckuss are, you'll be overjoyed to learn they're in the pack as well.

The Star Wars pack is exclusive to the Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions of the game, since Microsoft bought Minecraft a few months ago. That doesn't mean the PlayStation and other versions are being neglected – they'll still get free seasonal texture packs, as well as all the gameplay updates as Minecraft's console developer, 4J Studios, works to bring those versions of the game in line with the PC version.
