PlayStation TV coming to the UK in November

Sony has confirmed that PlayStation TV will hit the UK on 14 November.

What is it? It's a sleek and subtle little black box, about the size of a smartphone. It plugs directly into your TV. What does it do? First of all, it allows you to beam your PlayStation 4 signal to any other HDTV in your house. If someone else is watching the telly, you won't need to lug your console to another room – you can just continue playing on another screen. It connects wirelessly to the same DualShock controllers.

Perhaps more exciting, the PlayStation TV also plays PS Vita and PSP games, as well as PS One classics such as Crash Bandicoot, Silent Hill, Tekken, Tomb Raider and Metal Gear Solid. You can download these direct from the PlayStation Store, or plug Vita cards directly into the device. The PlayStation TV will also be the hub for PlayStation Now, Sony's “Netflix for games” service that will let you rent and stream games over the internet rather than downloading them.

The PlayStation TV has 1Gb of storage, and comes with a download code that grants you free copies of Worms Revolution Extreme, Velocity Ultra and OlliOlli.
