Lego Batman 3 gets a release date

We knew it was coming, but now Warner Bros has given us a date when we can expect Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham to swoop out of the shadows: November 14th.

The game expands on Lego Batman 2 which introduced a free-roaming Gotham City and other DC Comics superheroes, like Superman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern. As the title suggests, Beyond Gotham takes things even further.

The villainous genius Brainiac steals the powerful rings from the Green Lantern corps and uses them to shrink entire planets for his collection. It's up to the Justice League to travel into space stop him – and to do that, they may have to team up with the bad guys from the Legion of Doom, including The Joker, Lex Luthor and more.

Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham will boast 150 DC Comics characters, including cult obscurities Beast Boy, Mr. Mxyzptlk and even Krypto, Superman's super-dog. You'll also be able to play as Adam West, famous for portraying Batman in the groovy 1960s TV series.

In terms of gameplay, more characters will have alternate costumes and powers this time, and you can expect more variety than previous Lego titles, as the outer space setting allows for shoot-em-up sections and a variety of hacking mini-games.

Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham is due on November 14th for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, 3DS, PlayStation Vita, Wii U, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
