Blizzard has revealed the launch date of World of Warcraft's long-awaited new expansion. Warlords of Draenor will be released worldwide on November 13th. The previous expansion, Mists of Pandaria, came out in 2012.
The storyline picks up from the end of Pandaria, and features Horde leader Garrosh Hellscream escaping from custody and travelling back in time to change history. Many of the iconic villains and heroes from Warcraft lore will appear in the game. The action takes place in Draenor, the traditional homeland of the orcs.
In gameplay terms, Warlords of Draenor will increase the level cap from 90 to 100, and will also include a level boost that will let you create a new character and take them to the level 90 immediately, rather than asking you to grind them all the way up to a level where they can tackle the Draenor content. Also new is a Mythic difficulty for raids, and the inclusion of Garrisons, your own personal headquarters where you can recruit NPCs to go on missions for you.
Blizzard has also produced a five-part historical web series called Lords of War which details the characters and history involved in the Warlords of Draenor storyline.
