Bloodborne and more in Sony's Gamescom presentation

From Software, the developer behind the mighty Dark Souls series, has confirmed via Sony that its new game, Bloodborne, will launch within the next six months.

The PlayStation 4 exclusive promises combat that is even faster and more brutal than Dark Souls, and offers a couple of fascinating features. One is weapons that switch between different forms, even during combos, so a saw weapon might become a cleaver in time for the next strike. Also revealed is the Regain System, which will let you win back lost health if you inflict damage on an enemy after being attacked.

The news came during Sony's Gamescom presentation, which also revealed a slew of new titles and developments. Ninja Theory is working on a new melee fighting game for PS4 called Hellblade, while Rayman's Michel Ancel unveiled Wild, a game in which you can play as any animal in a continent the size of Europe. MIA slasher horror Until Dawn has also been confirmed as coming to Sony's console.

Vita hit Tearaway is getting a PlayStation 4 remake called Tearaway Unfolded, while indie hits Journey, The Unfinished Swan, DayZ and Papers, Please are all due on the console as well.
