Ryse: Son of Rome launching on PC

Crytek's Xbox One launch title Ryse: Son of Rome is coming to PC this Autumn, it has been confirmed. Deep Silver will publish the retail version.

The cinematic action adventure casts you as general Marius Titus, protecting Rome from invaders and working your way up the Legion's ranks. The third person game boasted gory combat, stunning scenery and impressive life-like characters. In fact, Crytek just won a prestigious SIGGRAPH award for Best Real-Time Graphics for its work on the Xbox version.

The PC version will look even better, as it will arrive ready for 4K resolutions. It will also include all the DLC released so far: the Colosseum Pack, the Mars' Chosen Pack, the Duel of Fates Pack and the Morituri Pack. That means five new character skins, 16 new maps for the multiplayer co-op arena and a bonus Survival mode with extra maps as well. PC players will also benefit from the extras originally packaged with the game's special edition: the Ruins multiplayer map and the Legionnaire’s Trust sword.

"4K gaming is another leap in graphics quality for PC gamers and Ryse is the perfect showcase for what's now possible in high-end PC games," said Crytek's Carl Jones. "We've given our team the opportunity to show what CryEngine can really achieve, without compromising quality, thanks to the incredible hardware available now to PC gamers. Ryse will be a benchmark PC graphics showcase this year and probably for a long time in future."
