Bungie has posted on its official blog to remind millions of eager players that when Destiny's second beta trial kicks off for PlayStation owners on July 17th, it will still be a proper development beta and that performance will be monitored.
The Destiny Beta is a test, reads the post. Make no mistake. This isnt some circus stunt. This is science and youre the lab rat. Wed love to tell you that everything will go according to plan, but that wouldnt be any fun. That wouldnt teach us a thing. Even if the Beta is working perfectly, one of the alpha-geeks in the operations center is gonna kick it to see if it still works. Fortunately, well be going to great lengths to keep you informed and keep you in the game.
Launching alongside the beta will be the official Destiny companion app. You'll be able to use this to customise your character in real time, as well as checking mission info and tracking all your gameplay stats.
The beta contains four story missions, four multiplayer maps and a co-op mission. You'll need to have pre-ordered the game to take part. The trial starts for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 from July 17th, with Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners joining from July 23rd. You'll need an Xbox Live Gold account for that.
Destiny, as you must surely know by now, comes out on September 9th and is already shaping up to be one of the biggest games of the year.
