Mario Kart 8 will be available in a special Wii U bundle

Nintendo confirm special Mario Kart 8, Wii U console bundle.

If you like the look of upcoming Nintendo racer Mario Kart 8, but haven't picked up a Wii U yet, then here comes one of those "two birds with one stone" moments that make life so precious. Nintendo has confirmed that there will be a special console bundle, including the game, when it launches on May 30th.

Mario Kart 8 continues the beloved racing franchise in style, with dozens of tracks - both new and reimagined HD versions of classic retro courses taken from the game's 22 year history. 12 player races will be standard, and the motorbikes, hang-gliders and underwater sections from the most recent Wii versions have been retained.

New to this version are anti-gravity areas, where you'll be able to race on the walls and ceiling. You'll be able to use Miiverse to upload clips of your races, using something called Mario Kart TV.

The Mario Kart 8 Premium Pack comes with a black 32Gb Wii U Premium console. You'll also get a free trial of the new Wii U karaoke app, which is nice. Both game and bundle are out on the same day - May 30th.
