Rockstar details incoming GTA Online updates

GTA Online has some big Spring updates coming, and Rockstar has revealed what players can expect to be added or changed when they land.

A Capture Creator will allow you to design your own multiplayer Capture missions, just as you can already create races and deathmatches. Over 3 million of those have been designed since the game was released late last year, and now you'll be able to "place pick-ups, define weaponry, set location, and tweak tons of other variables" in order to invent even more challenges for the community. As with other GTA Online user-generated content, Rockstar will be picking the best and stamping it as Rockstar Verified to help you locate the cream of the crop.

There will also be a High Life update which offers new "high end" apartment options, new swanky wardrobe items, the Dinka Thrust motorcycle and three new cars including the Pegassi Zentorno. In terms of firepower, it will add the Bull Pup rifle to the available arsenal. Also included will be the option to own two properties across the city, and a new Mental State player statistic which lets you know how sensible or crazy a player is likely to be.

The long awaited multiplayer Heists will also arrive this Spring, with more info due soon.

And that won't be the end of the game's updates. Later in 2014 there will be other additions, including contact-free racing - where other players are seen as ghosts, so they can't ram you off the road - and the ability to call Lester to get the cops off your tail. Cash payouts will also be introduced for rating user content.

And on top of all that, Rockstar has also confirmed that single-player story DLC is definitely on the way, also later this year.

Not just the biggest game of 2013, it seems Grand Theft Auto V is the game that keeps on giving all year round. It's out now for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
