Pink Nintendo 2DS coming to UK

May 16th sees the UK launch of Kirby: Triple Deluxe, the thirteenth game starring Nintendo's popular blobular pink superstar. To celebrate the occasion, there'll also be a special edition 2DS console hitting the shelves on the same day. Just like Kirby, it'll be available in a striking pink colour. Unlike Kirby, it won't devour or guzzle everything it sees.

Triple Deluxe finds Kirby embarking on a fairy tale adventure, after a giant beanstalk grows beneath his homeworld of Dream Land and carries various landmarks - including Kirby's house - up into the sky.

Gameplay takes place across multiple planes, and you're able to hop between foreground and background action using special Warp Stars. Also new is the Miracle Fruit. When Kirby gobbles one of those up, his rubbery blobby body is transformed into Hypernova Kirby, enabling him to suck up giant objects like trains and trees.

There's also the Kirby Fighters and Dedede's Drum Dash bonus games. The first is a Super Smash Bros style arena combat game where you equip your favourite Kirby abilities and duke it out with Kirby clones, while the latter is a musical rhythm action game based around classic Kirby tunes.

Both Kirby: Triple Deluxe and the pink 2DS will be available from May 16th.
