Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army coming to consoles

Rebellion's gory WW2 sniper spin-off, Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army, will be getting a special console edition, the developer has confirmed.

The original Nazi Zombie Army was released exclusively for PC in February 2013. A sequel, also for the PC, followed in October. Between them, both games have shifted half a million copies. Now Rebellion will self-publish a new version of the game for consoles, but it won't just be a compilation re-release.

"We can't say much yet but it won't just be a re-package of the first two games," Rebellion boss Jason Kingsley told Eurogamer. "There will be plenty of new content to get stuck into."

Also still a mystery: which consoles it will be coming to. "Like many independent developers, we're still learning the ropes and having a lot of conversations with the platform holders," Kingsley explains. "We're not at the stage where we can confirm the platforms right now, but we're fortunate to have experience already from self-publishing on Steam and mobile, so we're confident it'll go smoothly."

The studio is also working on Sniper Elite 3, which will be released for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PC later this year.
