Ubisoft has put a date on Freedom Cry, the first single player DLC expansion for its nautical adventure, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. December 17th is when it'll arrive for both PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
Freedom Cry picks up fifteen years after the events of Black Flag, and stars Adewale, Edward Kenway's first mate. "Born a slave, Adewale found freedom as a pirate aboard the Jackdaw as Captain Edward Kenway's second-in-command," says Ubisoft. "Fifteen years later, Adewale has become a trained assassin and finds himself shipwrecked in Saint-Domingue with no weapon nor crew, starting a new adventure of his own."
That adventure will encompass an additional nine story missions, which will revolve around freeing slaves. Heavy stuff. Ubisoft reckons it'll add another four hours to your game time - not bad when you consider the main game already offers well over 30 hours of content.
There's no word yet if the DLC will be released for the Wii U version of the game, or what the individual price tag will be. Pick up the game's Season Pass and you'll get this, and a bunch of other downloadable goodies, at a discount.
