Warner Bros has dropped a teasing hint as to what we can expect in the first story-driven DLC for Batman: Arkham Origins. Unlike the main game, which details the early adventures of the Dark Knight, the add-on will apparently focus on Batman's relationship with another character.
"It is in line with our angle of the origins - not necessarily of characters, but of key relationships," Ben Mattes, Batman Arkham Origins senior producer told Eurogamer. "It is a DLC that will focus on one of the most key relationships in Batman canon."
Does that mean Robin will be breaking out of the standalone Challenge Rooms section of the game, where he's currently playable? Or will the expansion dig deeper into Batman's relationship with Jim Gordon following the events of the main game? Could we even dare to dream that the key relationship in question is between the Caped Crusader and a certain Man of Steel? The two are famously teaming up for a movie in 2015, after all...
The story add-on will be released next year, but before then fans will get to experience an even earlier chapter in Bruce Wayne's life as The Initiation DLC arrives next month. This one is a series of Challenge Rooms set in Asia and based around the ninja training that Wayne receives as part of his journey towards becoming the Batman. And don't forget, all the DLC can be yours with a lovely saving of 30% off their total cost and a few extra skins if you grab the Season Pass.
Batman: Arkham Origins is out now for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U and PC.
