Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster dated for Spring 2014

Square Enix has put a date on the long awaited release of its HD remake of Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2. The spruced up compilation will launch in Europe on 21st March for PlayStation 3. Both games are also being prepared for separate PlayStation Vita release, although there's no date for those yet.

The games will be released in their International edition forms, which means extra content that hasn't been seen in the west. There's a 14 minute film called Eternal Calm which bridges the two games, additional gameplay content in the form of Last Mission and an all-new 30-minute scene which plays over the credits, which brings back the original writer and voice cast. There's also a Limited Edition coming, complete with an exclusive artbook for FF Fans to drool over.

Director Yoshinori Kitase is overseeing the high definition makeover personally. As well as the original Final Fantasy X, his legacy in Japanese RPGs stretches back to 1990s classics such as Final Fantasy VI and Chrono Trigger.
