Killzone: Shadow Fall has 10 hour campaign

At a time when many first-person shooters are focusing their efforts on multiplayer, it looks like PlayStation 4 exclusive Killzone: Shadow Fall may buck the trend with a hefty single player campaign that will take "well over 10 hours for most gamers" according to game director Steven ter Heide.

He was posting in an official Q&A session with fans on the PlayStation blog, to celebrate the fact that the game development is now finished and the end result headed off to the magic factory that turns game code into game discs.

There will be multiplayer, of course, and ter Heide also revealed that the game will be running dedicated servers for the best possible experience. There will be 22 weapons for use in multiplayer and, unlike other shooters, all will be available to every player right from the start. Attachments for those weapons, however, will only be unlocked for those who complete specific challenges.

There are no plans for split-screen multiplayer, ter Heide announced, but a co-operative survival mode is planned for a post-launch addition to the game.

Killzone: Shadow Fall is a PlayStation 4 launch title, and drops on November 29th alongside SONY's new baby.
