It will take you around 12 hours to guide Batman through the twisting tale of Arkham Origins, developer Warner Bros Montreal has revealed, and even longer than that if you want to find every collectable and solve every bonus puzzle.
But even after completion, the game will keep giving. Beating the game once unlocks the now familiar New Game Plus mode, in which you start with all the gadgets and abilities you earned previously. Beat that mode, however, and you'll unlock I Am The Night, a new super hardcore mode for dedicated caped crusaders.
The game's producer, Guillaume Voghel, told Eurogamer: "We have a new difficulty level, New Game Plus is coming pack - that's really difficult - and when you're done with that there's I Am The Night mode - which is no saves and one life."
Voghel also unveiled a cool bit of single player DLC called Initiation. In keeping with the origins theme of the game, which takes place during Batman's second year as an active crimefighter, this bonus content sees you playing as a pre-costume Bruce Wayne as he hones his skills in Asia, training under the same master who taught Ra's Al Ghul and his League of Assassins.
"You play as Bruce Wayne learning to be a ninja," Voghel explained. "That's a really cool one. Narratively there's some added content that will give players a little more background story. It's not League of Assassins, it's ninja-related. It's when he learned to be a ninja and learned those techniques. He goes to a monastery - custom content was created for the DLC. You'll be in Asia in the monastery. The team did a great job on that, it looks really good."
Batman: Arkham Origins is out on October 25th for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and Wii U.
