As teased earlier in the week, there will be an open multiplayer beta for EA's upcoming shooter Battlefield 4 and the full details have now been confirmed. The beta opens on October 1st for those who have earned early access, and will be available to everyone else from October 4th. The beta runs across Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
If you're a Battlefield fan, there's a good chance you'll qualify for early access: you need to be a Battlefield 3 Premium subscriber, or have registered a copy of the Medal of Honor: Warfighter Limited Edition. Simple.
EA has also announced the release date for the next generation console version of the game. The Xbox One version arrives on November 21st, so it'll be available for the launch of the console. Similarly, the PlayStation 4 version will be released one week later on November 29th, in time for SONY's new baby.
Don't fret if you're still unsure which version to get. EA has promised that you'll be able to carry content over from current consoles to the new ones, and you'll also be pop into your local GAME branch to trade in your Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 copy of Battlefield 4, and get £40 off the price of the next gen equivalent. Just remember the game must have been purchased from GAME, and you'll need the receipt.
Battlefield 4's current gen and PC versions go on sale November 1st.
