Scribblenauts Unmasked flies into the UK in September

Here's an unlikely combination of word-based puzzle gaming and iconic comic book heroes: Scribblenauts Unmasked: A DC Comics Adventure is a mashup of the popular Wii and DS Scribblenauts series with DC's roster of superheros and supervillains.

You'll control familiar Scribblenauts star Maxwell as he journeys through such landmark locations as Gotham City, Metropolis and even Atlantis, tackling all manner of bizarre scenarios alongside a veritable who's who of the DC universe.

Scribblenauts, of course, is famous as the game where you can type in pretty much anything you can think of and have it appear on-screen. Last year's Scribblenauts Unlimited even allowed for bizarre and complex combinations of nouns and adjectives, so you could conjure up an "epic rainbow elephant" to ride on. Imagine how much fun you could have with that in a superhero universe.

Scribblenauts Unmasked will feature characters such as Batman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern, and will boast no less than 14 different versions of Superman. All told, publisher Warner Bros is promising more than two thousand DC Comics characters and objects will be yours to tinker with.

Scribblenauts Unmasked will be out for Wii U, 3DS and PC on September 27th.
