E3: PlayStation 4 won't block used games

SONY has finally pulled back the curtain on the PlayStation 4 console, revealing a sleek black vertical box with a slim and discreet camera that will sit on top of your TV.

Perhaps most importantly, SONY has announced that it won't be implementing any systems designed to disable or block the sharing of disc-based games. You'll be able to trade in your games or lend them to a mate without any restrictions. Nor will the console have any online check-in requirements - for single player games, it doesn't matter if the console never connects to the internet.

SONY also narrowed down the PS4 console's launch window to a pre-Christmas slot for both Europe and America, and announced the rather attractive price of £349 for the UK.

Among the games shown off or announced for the console are Square Enix's long-awaited Disney/Final Fantasy mash-up Kingdom Hearts 3 and two promising first-person horror titles: steampunk shocker The Order, and the gruelling asylum exploration of Outlast. The long-delayed Final Fantasy Versus 13 was also revealed to have been revamped and retooled into a full sequel, Final Fantasy 15, for SONY's console.

And so now both next generation consoles are fully exposed and raring to go. Which one will you be getting?
