Media Molecule's Tearaway rips into action in October

Media Molecule, the British developer which gave us the comforting buttery loveliness of LittleBigPlanet, will release its next game, Tearaway, on October 25th according to SONY.

Much like Sackboy's patchwork world, the PlayStation Vita exclusive has an arts and craft vibe. You'll play as Iota or Atoi, cheeky little messengers with envelopes for heads, who live in a world made from paper. A 3D platformer in the Mario Galaxy vein, you'll navigate the world by ripping, folding and sticking your way through it.

You'll be able to use the PS Vita's front touch screen to pod and poke the game world, while the rear touchscreen lets you tear your way in from behind. The game uses augmented reality and the PS Vita's cameras and tilt sensitivity to make it look like your fingers really are rummaging around in the game.

In a sweetly appropriate move, Media Molecule has also announced that the game will come with a reversible cover, with a different design for each of the two lead characters.

Tearaway is out for PlayStation Vita on October 25th.
