Pirate adventure Raven's Cry sets sail in October

Could 2013 be the Year of the Pirate? It's looking that way, as publisher Topware has announced its high seas adventure Raven's Cry will launch on October 24th, just one week before Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag arrives in port (and also shops).

Raven's Cry boasts a realistically modeled 17th century Caribbean world to explore, from Port Royal to Havana and even an Aztec temple. You'll be playing as Christopher Raven, a man on the hunt for the pirates who killed his family. There'll be melee combat and flintlock pistol shoot outs, as well as voodoo-themed special powers for a spicy twist.

Developer Octane Games is also promising an ending that changes depending on how you behave. Seek revenge in an honourable way and you'll get a different conclusion than if you embark on a ruthless campaign of violent retribution.

Raven's Cry is set for Xbox 360 and PC on October 24th. Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag launches on November 1st. Is there room enough in your treasure chest for two swashbuckling adventures?
