Persona 4 Arena finally coming to the UK

Acclaimed fighting game Persona 4 Arena will finally get a UK release, publisher Zen United has announced. The game originally launched in Japanese arcades in March 2012. A home console release followed on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in July, with an American retail release following in August of last year. Now, at last, it will come to the UK on May 10th.

The game is the latest in the cult fighting game series, itself a spin-off from the Megami Tensei role-playing games. In Persona, all the fighters are teenagers with the ability to summon forth aspects of their psyche known as personas to battle on their behalf. Persona 4 Arena has a focus on story and dialogue that goes far beyond what other fighting games offer, and also has a unique style of play, with features such as an "Instant Kill" attack that can defeat an opponent in one blow.

To make up for the long wait, UK fans who pre-order will automatically be upgraded to the Limited Edition version of the game, which comes with a soundtrack CD and a digital art pack. This edition won't be available after launch, so if you want one you'll need to order now.

Persona 4 Arena will be released for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on May 10th.
