In a surprise move, Rockstar Games have revealed that Grand Theft Auto V will be hitting the shelves on September 17th.
Previous reports were that the latest instalment in this open-world crime behemoth would be released in Spring 2013, something addressed in Rockstar's announcement today, where they admitted "we know that this short delay will come as a disappointment to many of you", adding that "GTAV is a massively ambitious and complex game and it simply needs a little more polish to be of the standard we and, more importantly, you require". So at least we can be sure that when the game arrives, it'll be the one we want it to be.
Grand Theft Auto V promises to be the most ambitious entry yet, and offers three protagonists - retired bank robber Michael, druggie pilot Trevor and hustler Franklin - each with their own missions that will intersect. You'll be able to switch between them throughout the game, and even mid-mission when they're working together.
