First Rambo details emerge from the jungle

Earlier this year, publisher Reef Entertainment revealed it would be releasing a game based on Sylvester Stallone's popular action hero, but only now have gameplay details stomped into view, clad in a sweaty bandana, muttering about war and clutching an M60.

It'll be a first-person shooter, taking players on a "violent journey through iconic action sequences from the original three legendary Rambo movies". We're also promised destructible terrain, cover-based shoot outs and ragdoll physics, all of which should combine to form a well-oiled muscular shoot-em-up experience.

"We are concentrating on authenticity to the films, variety of action and explosive gameplay sequences," says Reef's commercial director Craig Lewis. "By matching classic fixed-perspective play to a contemporary game engine we believe we can deliver a game that matches the pace and action set-piece diversity of the films."

Still no word on whether Stallone himself will return to voice his digital alter ego, but we'll find out soon enough when the game launches for consoles and PC.
