BioWare 'moving on to new Dragon Age project'

Acclaimed developer BioWare has revealed that its teams are starting work on the next instalment of the popular Dragon Age franchise.

Mike Laidlaw, creative director of the Dragon Age series, has released a statement on BioWare's official forum stating that the studio has officially completed its work on Dragon Age II and is now moving towards "the next phase of Dragon Age's future".

This comes a year after Dragon Age II made its debut on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, with numerous pieces of add-on content and extra chapters having been created by BioWare since.

Mr Laidlaw added that the developer is also keen for fans to continue sharing their feedback on the series so far, in order to help shape the way that future instalments are designed.

"On behalf of the entire team, we are incredibly eager to reach the moment when we can tell you more and show you where we are taking Dragon Age," he added.

The series has proven a big success since debuting with Dragon Age: Origins in 2009, spawning novels, comics, a tabletop role-playing game and a forthcoming anime movie.
