BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend wins praise on PS Vita

Arc System Works Europe and PQube have hailed the positive reaction the new PlayStation Vita fighting game BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend has received from gamers and critics thus far.

One of the launch titles for Sony's new handheld console, the old-school 2D brawler is currently the highest-rated PS Vita fighting game both on Metacritic and on the user-voted PlayStation Store rankings.

GamesMaster and Metro both praised the title as one of the best beat-em-ups of the last few years, with reviewers left impressed by BlazBlue's stunning visuals, in-depth combat system and huge cast of combatants.

Geraint Evans, director of Arc System Works Europe, said: "We very much hope new players will keep exploring what this series has offer, both in terms of the competitive fighting as well as the story, universe and characters."

Also available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, Continuum Shift Extend is billed as the ultimate BlazBlue experience, featuring all the story content included in previous instalments, as well as a complete roster of 19 fighters.

Nintendo 3DS owners can also get in on the BlazBlue action with BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II, released in November 2011.
