Jesper Kyd, one of gaming's most renowned musical composers, has signed up to provide the score for the forthcoming action adventure Darksiders II.
The award-winning musician, who is well known for his iconic soundtracks for the Assassin's Creed games, will be working with THQ and Vigil Games to create dark, moody themes for the apocalyptic sequel.
Since Darksiders II follows the exploits of Death, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, fans have been told to expect ethereal melodies and fantastical tunes that will heighten the impact of the game's story and atmosphere.
Kyd said: "Darksiders II is an awesome game and one of the most fun and creatively satisfying projects I have scored. I had a blast working with the team at Vigil."
Darksiders II will be released in June 2012 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, with a version for Nintendo's new Wii U also in the works.
