Rhythm Thief & the Emperor's Treasure hits 3DS this April

The stylish music game Rhythm Thief & the Emperor's Treasure will be arriving on European Nintendo 3DS consoles in April 2012.

Nintendo and Sega are teaming up to publish and distribute the Parisian-themed handheld adventure, which combines puzzle-solving with rhythm challenges involving button taps, stylus swipes and motion controls.

The game follows a sharp-suited, honourable young thief called Raphael, who embarks on a whistle-stop tour of Paris in search of his missing father while staying one step ahead of the pursuing police.

Featuring an expressive anime art style and a backdrop that includes many of the French city's most famous landmarks, Rhythm Thief is set to be one of the 3DS' most visually vibrant games to date.

It also includes wireless multiplayer options and StreetPass data transfer features.

A free demo version of Rhythm Thief & the Emperor's Treasure will be released via the Nintendo eShop in the run-up to its April launch.
