Young Justice: Legacy to soar in 2013

The teen heroes of the popular animated series Young Justice will be appearing in a new videogame based on the cartoon early next year.

Little Orbit and Warner Bros Interactive have pencilled in a 2013 release date for Young Justice: Legacy, which is in development for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii and Nintendo DS.

As with the TV show, Young Justice: Legacy focuses on youthful heroes such as Robin, Aqualad, Kid Flash, Miss Martian and Superboy, as they face off against iconic DC Comics villains and prove themselves to their Justice League mentors.

Featuring a range of playable characters and online multiplayer modes, the game will also include an original storyline penned in collaboration with the show's writers Greg Weisman and Brandon Vietti.

Matt Scott of Little Orbit said: "Our core mission is to create a unique experience that fits seamlessly into the world of the show and offers a new way to interact with these popular DC Comics characters."

The DC brand is coasting on a wave of acclaim at the moment thanks to the continuing success of Batman: Arkham City, which is one of the frontrunners at the annual GAME British Academy Video Games Awards.
