A limited number of invitations are being made available for Sony console owners to take part in the preliminary test of the new social tool, which will make its full debut as part of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 in November.
The beta works in conjunction with Call of Duty: Black Ops and lets players try out key features such as stat tracking, video sharing, custom group creation and tournament modes.
Xbox 360 owners first got to experience Call of Duty Elite in July, with the service set to revolutionise the online Call of Duty experience.
Free users will be able to create profiles, clans and groups, download phone apps, access official game guides and much more.
Meanwhile, paid subscribers will be able to access even more content, such as episodic video content, special tournaments and complete access to DLC map packs at no extra charge.
