One of gaming's most famous puzzle franchises is to make its 3DS debut later this year with the release of Puzzle Bobble Universe.
The SquareEnix-published title is due out during the new handheld console's launch window and sees dinosaur duo Bub and Bob embarking on an outer space adventure.
Puzzle Bobble Universe will bring back the tried-and-true colourful bubble-matching gameplay for which the series is famous, along with a number of new features, including stereoscopic 3D presentation and bright visual effects.
Gameplay additions include 88 brand-new stages and a selection of challenge modes, including timed games and a Non-Stop Bubbles setting.
SquareEnix's Larry Sparks said: "The gameplay mechanics and vibrant visuals associated with the series perfectly suit the new console's capabilities. Puzzle Bobble Universe is sure to be a must-have title for any 3DS owner."
The hotly-anticipated Nintendo 3DS, which allows players to view 3D graphics without special glasses, is all set to make its UK debut on March 25th 2011.
