Capcom has confirmed that Super Street Fighter IV is getting another remix, with Ultra Street Fighter IV expected to dragon punch its way into our hearts early next year.
The updated game adds five new fighters - bringing the roster up to a beefy 44 playable characters - and also includes six new stages. All are drawn from the recent Street Fighter x Tekken crossover title. The new stages are Pitstop 109, Mad Gear Hideout, Cosmic Elevator, Blast Furnace, Half Pipe, and Jurassic Era Research Facility. Hugo, Poison, Elena and Rolento are four of the additional characters, with the identity of the fifth still a secret.
The Ultra edition also includes fresh tweaks and balances to the game's razor sharp systems, based on fan feedback.
The good news is that if you already own Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition, all this content will be available as a downloadable expansion, so make sure you keep that virtual wallet topped up. Newcomers will be able to buy a retail version containing everything for just £19.99.
Ultra Street Fighter IV will be released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC in early 2014.
