The entrants are in, the pictures have all been perused – and we have a winner!

We asked you to come up with your coolest rock poses, and you lot showed what a creative bunch you are. We had some funny, some strange, and some, to be frank, downright scary pictures being passed around GAME HQ.

Below you’ll find some of our faves, including a home-made Master Chief outfit, Slash and Stormtrooper wannabes, and one we’ve affectionately called ‘Guitar Goro’, all of which narrowly missed out on the prize. There were also a few who missed the point entirely – like the guy rocking out with a plank of wood... Or the guy playing his dog!

There can be only one winner, though – and we went for the mop-headed ariborn rocking of Sam Finch, who wins the Guitar Hero branded guitar!

Not many games go from bright idea to cultural phenomenon in the space of a few short years – but Activision's Guitar Hero series has done just that.

Exploding onto PlayStation 2 in 2005 with an anthem-packed soundtrack and innovative Guitar-controlled rhythm-action gameplay, Guitar Hero's biggest achievement was to make you feel like a real rock star. Where Dancing Stage and SingStar had been kitsch novelties, Guitar Hero made social party gaming cool.

Featuring real-life rock icons like Slash, appearing on TV shows from South Park to Gossip Girl and boasting a presence at gigs and clubs the world over, Guitar Hero is a widespread media icon. And with the latest in the series, Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, available on PS2, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii, literally everyone can experience its rollocking rock-out brilliance.

The competition is open to residents of the UK & ROI only. Entrants under 18 years of age must seek permission from parent or guardian before entering the competition. By submitting an image entrants agree that their image can be used on GAME.co.uk. If the entrant is under 18 their parent or guardian gives consent for the use of the image.
