We gotta say, we didn't see this coming. Sure, it's popular and sure, it's a fantastic game - but 24.5% of the vote? Even Resident Evil 4, which was clearly the best game of 2005 by a country mile, didn't win by a margin that big.
Call of Duty 4 brought the WWII franchise into the realm of Modern Warfare with an incredibly polished next-gen experience, combining superb visuals and sound design with a strong plot, memorable characters and violent, visceral but varied and very enjoyable gameplay.
Plus, when you complete it, you get a special rap song which is perhaps the stupidest thing we have ever heard. It's awesome.
