  • The Nintendo 3DS is to receive its first wrestling game this November with the launch of WWE All Stars on the handheld console.

A new version of the popular PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 title, WWE All Stars features an expansive range of wrestling stars from the past and present, giving players the chance to create fantasy face-offs.

Superstars such as John Cena, The Rock, 'Macho Man' Randy Savage and Triple H are all included in the roster, while the 3DS edition will also include 13 characters who were only previously available as downloadable content, such as R-Truth and Chris Jericho.

Among the all-new features for the 3DS release are two new modes: Gauntlet, which lets players battle every character in the game back-to-back, and Score Scramble, in which gamers must race to achieve a certain score within the time limit.

Danny Bilson of publisher THQ said: "We feel this gameplay experience and over-the-top energy will translate well to a handheld format."

This November is set to be an exciting month for fans of WWE, as THQ will also be launching WWE 12 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii.

"WWE Live will bring the impassioned WWE live event experience into the living rooms of consumers, while critical core gameplay improvements and a serious dose of attitude will enable them to experience WWE action like never before."

WWE '13 is scheduled to be released in America on 30th October, while a European date has yet to be confirmed.

The best WWE game
This game is very good a must for a WWE fan, at first it was annoying because they have change the controls but after a couple of hours of playing finally go use to it and is very good and the superstars actually put up a fight even on the easiest difficulty

Most realstic game since No Mecy
As we all know, No Mercy on the N64 was pretty much the measuring stick for all wrestling games to follow. 11 years on and none have even come close, until now. Though nothing in my opinion will ever top the sheer brilliance of THQ's wrestling games on the N64, this is the closest they have come now. The matches flow beautifully with the new, simple grapple system (although as simple as it may seem now to me, it was a bugger to figure out the first load of games I played, and I'm positive there is still stuff that I don't know how to do yet but hopefully it will all come in time), the grapple system also feels much more natural to do, and I LOVE the fact that you simply cannot walk into a match and perform a powerbomb straight away for example. Like the old N64 games, you have to wear your opponent down with smaller moves and strikes, and THEN perform a power move, otherwise they will just reverse the big move. There is so much one can actually do in the match, and they have kept the physics system from last year as well (it seems better this year too). The new camera angles make the matches seem like you're watching it on TV. Also, again like No Mercy etc, the wrestlers FINALLY get beat up properly, can regain stamina for a bit, lose it again etc. Not just get beat up and stay beat up for the rest of the match. Again, it makes it seem like it's a proper wrestling match with them making their comeback. I'm kind of rambling here but it's just so hard to describe really just how realistic and fluid these matches can be until you have played the game. The graphics are beautiful, the match types are huge as always and the roster is amazing. I'm not going to review Road to Wrestlemania or online as I haven't done either of these yet. If you want a wrestling game, just get it. If you're STILL disappointed with it and can still se no similarities between this and No Mercy, then maybe just go retro for a bit, get your N64 out and PLAY No Mercy, otherwise, stick with WWE 12, I highly doubt you will be disappointed.
Has WWE 12 lost series magic?
I have to say that I praise some of the new features like the Comeback attack and Create-A-Arena mode, but some of the wrestling transactions between moves seems unreal and the game feels rushed, with the best wrestling moves from previous titles left out. The game overall for me is just a game of two halves, good features and customization but lacking the magic that made WWE games fun to play, the RTWM a prime example. Pick this up ONLY if you are new to wrestling games, some fans may feel quite dissappointed afterwards.
