Watchdogs on Wii U

Ubisoft has confirmed that its best-selling cyberpunk sandbox Watch Dogs will release for Wii U in the UK on 21 November. The game originally released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC back in May.

It proved to quite the hit, becoming Ubisoft's fastest-selling game ever, and was also the biggest launch of a new game series in UK history. It sold four million copies in less than a week, and had reached over eight million copies sold by July.

The game casts you as Aiden Pearce, an elite hacker whose family suffers when a high profile cyber-crime attracts the attention of shadowy forces who want him dead. Pearce goes off the grid and uses his hacking skills to get revenge, manipulating the connected city of future Chicago to his advantage. You also get to shoot lots of beefy guns, drive cool cars and do all the things you want to do in an openworld city game.

Ubisoft hasn't explained yet how it will use the Wii U game pad, with its second touch screen, but since so much of Watch Dogs involves Aiden using his own handheld device to hack the world and look through CCTV cameras, it certainly seems like a game that can take full advantage of the technology.

Once again, Watch Dogs is out on Wii U from 21 November. It's out now on Xbox and PlayStation consoles, as well as PC.
