Turtle Beach Ear Force XP500 Wireless Headset for Xbox 360 Product Details

Released on 09-Dec-2011

The Turtle Beach XP500 is a special version of the critically-acclaimed PX5 that’s designed specifically for the XBOX 360 and includes an XBA Bluetooth adapter for wireless XBOX Live chat. Just like the PX5, the XP500 delivers the ultimate gaming audio experience with a programmable digital signal processor, Dolby Surround Sound, Bluetooth technology, and XBOX LIVE wireless chat, making it the most technologically advanced headset ever designed for the XBOX 360.

The DSP allows gamers to enhance and personalize the entire gaming audio experience with fully customizable game, chat and mic signals. Custom presets stored in the Turtle Beach XP500 headset can be selected during specific parts of the game to emphasize sounds like footsteps or reloads that might otherwise be difficult to hear. It can even be programmed to disguise your voice or to enhance the voices of online players so you can hear them more clearly during intense parts of the game.

Bluetooth technology lets you chat wirelessly on XBOX LIVE and PSN, answer mobile phone calls and stream music – all while gaming in immersive 360 degree surround sound.

Although optimized for Xbox 360 gaming, the Turtle Beach XP500 is also perfect for watching movies and listening to music, with its impeccable audio performance, large, deep, fabric cushions, soft headband, and twist cup designed for resting the headset on your shoulders. The Turtle Beach XP500 continues the evolution of a new breed of wireless gaming headset that serves as the ultimate “secret weapon” in the arsenal of serious gamers seeking unmatched audio quality, sonic control and a competitive advantage.

Love them love them love them
After looking at loads of wireless headphones decided to go for the xp500 1 being the spec and 2 the cost I almost bought the 400 but it was an extra £30 for what I could see the same headphones these are so good I've paired my iPhone to them so can make calls or receive calls through them with no problems highly recommend these

Great Headset.
Great headset but eats up batteries like no bodies business. Bought as a upgrade from my Turtle Beach 31, just as comfy, the sound sounds a lot better than my old ones. Well worth the buy.

you should invest in some rechargable energizer double "A"s you run down one pair and the second ones are charged ready for you to use, saves you money in the long run

Good but get the xp400 instead.
First off I use the xp500 on my xbox so don't know any differences between the two consoles. If you can live without the sound editor software and ability to save your own sound presets to the head set I would recommend you get the xp400. Why I hear you ask well its simple the xp500 runs on the older 2.4ghz spectrum which means everything wireless has a good possibility of interfering in some way or another with the sound. It will randomly drop in and out and some times cut out all together. Now you can tinker with your routers settings to change the channel but if you live in a built up area like a block of flats like I do you cant go and ask your neighbors to change the channels and settings on their routers because it interferes with your headset. The xp400 however uses 5ghz tech which is a much less congested spectrum and is a lot less prone to interference. Sound quality wise both headsets are excellent, I have used both and can honestly say that both are the best sounding headset I have ever had and I have had a few.

Decent headset but the price is a bit extreme
My father bought me a set in HK this Jan. They are probably some the best headsets on the market. Uses two AA batteries but cheap supermarket value ones will only last 10 mins (if you're lucky) so you should invest in some decent rechargeable ones - I use Panasonic Evolta which give me about 10 hours between charges. It is fully wireless as it has a bluetooth dongle that can be plugged into the microphone port in your 360 controller. And being a bluetooth headset it is can also be paired with most other bluetooth enabled hardware such as PCs or mobile phones. The sound quality is excellent for online multiplayer, can be set to allow you hear the footsteps of that guy sneaking up behind you with the sawed-off or you could just use them to watch movies without disturbing your family and neighbours. But this headset is effectly the Xbox version of PX5 (designed for PS3) with the only major differences being the colour (it is black with green trim) and the fact that includes a bluetooth dongle. So anyone who bought the PX5 for use with the 360, shouldn't rush out to spend console money to get this headset. In HK, you can actually buy the dongle separately for use with the PX5s, so chances are it will also be avaliable in the UK. Is this headtset worth the money? The short answer is yes. If you have the money to burn and absolutely must have a fully wireless headset for your 360 then go for it. But if you just want a decent headset and don't mind wired ones, there are plenty of decent headsets out on the market for far less.
