  If you fancy doing wheelies in the sky while shooting up baddies like there's no tomorrow, you should probably head down to your local Gamestation early on 3rd September - or better still, pre-order and enjoy a lie-in - to get your hands on a copy of H.A.W.X. 2 - publisher Ubisoft has just announced that's the date it will be hitting shelves around the country.

  The sequel to the excellent Tom Clancy plane spin-off, H.A.W.X. 2 promises more of the same blend of crazy stunts and combat, as you whiz through detailed environments as a rising star in an ultra-secret airforce squadron. The original game pitched the action somewhere between After-Burner and a kind of Burnout for the skies - hence that crack about pulling off wheelies. In other words, realism takes a back seat as the manoeuvres get truly crazy.

  The game's being put together by Ubisoft Romania, and the team seems pretty excited about things. "You are one of the chosen few, one of the truly elite," says the official press release. "You will use finely honed reflexes, bleeding-edge technology and ultra-sophisticated aircraft - their existence denied by many governments - to dominate the skies."

  Sounds good to us. H.A.W.X. 2 will be hitting the Wii, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
